Before proceeding, please note that rooting your device and installing custom recovery like TWRP can potentially void your device warranty and may also cause permanent damage to your device if not done correctly. Therefore, it is essential to have adequate knowledge and follow the process carefully.
Here are the steps to root Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3 through TWRP:
Unlock the bootloader of your device: To unlock the bootloader, go to the Settings > About phone > Tap on MIUI version seven times to enable Developer options > Developer options > OEM unlocking and USB debugging > Turn it ON. Then, connect your device to your PC using a USB cable and follow the instructions on the official Xiaomi website to unlock the bootloader of your device.

Download TWRP recovery: Download the TWRP recovery for your device from the official TWRP tool website from the unique rom.

Boot your device into fastboot mode: Turn off your device and press and hold the Power button + Volume down button simultaneously until you see the fastboot logo.
Connect your device to your PC using a USB cable.
Install ADB and Fastboot: Download and install the ADB and Fastboot drivers on your PC.
Flash TWRP recovery: Open a command prompt in the ADB folder by pressing Shift + Right-click and selecting "Open command window here" or "Open PowerShell window here". Type the following command and press enter: fastboot flash recovery <twrp-filename>.img (Replace <twrp-filename> with the actual name of the TWRP recovery file that you downloaded).

Boot into TWRP recovery: To boot into TWRP recovery, turn off your device and press and hold the Power button + Volume Up button simultaneously until the TWRP recovery menu appears.
Create a Nandroid backup: Before proceeding with the rooting process, it is essential to create a backup of your device data. Go to Backup and select all the partitions that you want to backup. Swipe the slider to start the backup process.
Flash Magisk: Download the Magisk zip file from the official Magisk website and transfer it to your device's internal storage. In TWRP recovery, go to Install and select the Magisk zip file. Swipe the slider to confirm the installation.
Reboot your device: After the installation is complete, go to Reboot > System to reboot your device.
Your Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3 should now be rooted. You can verify it by downloading a root checker app from the front here !
